Other pre-move tasks
• Defrost refrigerator/freezer
• Disconnect washing machine and drain
waste water
• Check manufacturer(s) so major appliances
are correctly prepared for moving
• Empty all gas cylinders
• Return books, videos, etc.
• Put important items such as passports
and tickets in your personal luggage.
• Arrange for someone to look after
your children during packing. This can be
a stressful time for them.
• Wash thoroughly any items that may
be of interest to Quarantine/Agriculture,
i.e. mowers, garden tools, golf
equipment, bicycles, etc if moving overseas.
• Advise movers of any high value
items i.e. antiques, paintings, etc. Remember
to fill out the proper insurance
forms for your high-value items
