Taking a sensible step-by-step approach
significantly reduces relocation hassles.
Step 1: Make some decisions
early, such as determining your time frame
and service requirements.
Step 2: Check belongings
so you know what to bring, what is for storage,
and what to get rid of.
Step 3: Contact a B.L.
Williams’ professional and arrange
for an in-home survey and consultation.
Together, we will determine the moving plan
that best suits your needs: for instance,
should you ship by sea or by air, or how
best to transport the family pet.
Step 4: Go through your
belongings again, this time assessing the
value of all the items you plan to keep.
Fill out a valued inventory to insure them.
Step 5: Once the date
for your move has been set, make your travel
arrangements, including, if necessary temporary
accommodation here and at your new destination.
Step 6: Get all your required
documentation as soon as possible. This
includes visa applications, passport renewals,
customs forms and change of address notices.
Ask a B.L. Williams professional to assist
you with all the necessary paperwork.
Step 7: Before moving
day, set aside all items you don’t
wish to be packed in the shipment. This
would include your passport and other important
documents, tickets, money, and jewelry among
other things.
Step 8: On moving day
make sure you, or someone you authorize
should watch over the entire move. This
way you can match the count and condition
of your belongings with the packing inventory,
and answer questions from the movers.
Step 9: Once you arrive
in your new home contact B.L. Williams so
we can arrange delivery of your belongings.
